How to stay hydrated!

Maintaining a healthy fluid balance can be difficult. But keep in mind that staying hydrated not only keeps our vital organs and bodies running smoothly, but it also keeps common symptoms like fatigue, headaches, and dry skin under control. Dehydration can also lead to a serious condition called heat stroke. And as summer temperature hit, we must be more mindful of our water intake.

Here are some tips to staying hydrated:
• Start your day right and have something to drink when you first get up in the morning
• Have a glass of water before each meal
• Keep a water bottle handy to encourage you to drink
• After each trip to the restroom, drink a glass of water to replenish your fluids
• Drink something before, during and after exercise
• Limit caffeinated and sugary beverages (Caffeine acts as a diuretic and can cause you to lose fluids quickly. Sugary beverages can slow your body’s ability to absorb fluids)
• Eat fruits and vegetables as they contain various levels of water
