Avoid back injury and disc herniation with proper lifting technique!

*Lift close to your body for more stability
*Keep your feet shoulder width apart for a more solid base of support
*Never bend or twist your back. Keep your back straight and raise and lower to the ground by bending your knees
*Tighten your abdominal muscles to prevent unnecessary force on the spine
*Lift with your legs and not your back
*Get help if you find yourself straining as you lift
*Wear a belt or back support
