Rotator Cuff Syndrome

Do you have shoulder pain? Shoulder weakness? Loss of motion?

Rotator cuff syndrome is a range of conditions affecting the rotator cuff tendons of the shoulder: supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis.

Shoulder pain is felt when reaching overhead, reaching back, lifting, pulling or sleeping on the affected side.

Common causes include repetitive overuse, a fall on the shoulder or outstretched arm, abnormally shaped acromion, shoulder instability, and impingement of the rotator cuff tendons.

Before considering corticosteroid injections and/or surgery, try conservative treatment first. Conservative treatment involves resting and stopping the offending activity, sport and job modifications, and of course, chiropractic care.
